Timisoara’s cultural spring brings a variety of events designed to delight and inspire the public. These include two fascinating exhibitions that conclude their program in March.The exhibition “Rituals, Keepers and Storms” by contemporary artist Ioana Nemes, hosted by Casa Isho, can be admired until the 9th of March. This exhibition aims to (re)introduce a set of explorations from her creative laboratory and to define the incipient core of a larger project that this exhibition prefigures.
At the same time, the exhibition “Parallels. Timișoara/Novi Sad”, finishes on the 17th of March, and until then it can be seen at the National Museum of Art. This innovative project brings to the fore works that explore the connections between the two cities, Timișoara and Novi Sad.One of the events that will attract attention earlier in the month is Dora Gaitanovici’s concert, where the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the release of her EP “Step by Step”. The concert will take place on the 2nd of March, starting at 20:00 at FITT, located at 19 Arieș Street.
This month, theatre is particularly important. On the 7th of March, at 19:00, in the Main Hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, the performance “White Nights” will be staged.In addition, on the 8th and on the 9th of March, at the same time, the Hungarian State Theatre “Csiki Gergely” will present the premiere of “Pericles” by William Shakespeare in the Great Hall. Also on the 8th of March, there will be a symphonic concert by the “Remus Georgescu” Orchestra of the Banat Philharmonic, with conductor RUMON GAMBA and oboe soloist SIMONA SINDREȘTEAN, from 19:00, in the Capitol Hall of the Banat Philharmonic, Bdul Constantin Diaconovici Loga 2.
The public is invited to discover Timișoara through the perspective of the show “Romanian Diary. Timișoara”, scheduled for the 10th of March, at 19:30, at the German State Theatre on Alba Iulia Street, number 2.On the 15th of March, the Opera Hall will resound with emotion and passion in the performance “LA BOHÈME”, composed by G. Puccini, at 19:00, at the Romanian National Opera, located at 2 Mărășești Street.
FIT Timisoara will again host a special concert on the 16th of March, when Ana Coman will launch her new album “Tu nu o să me uiți”. The concert starts at 20:00. On the 17th of March, at 17:00, there will be a theatre performance titled “1978”, directed by Tomi Janežič, at 32 Calea Ghirodei Street.
On the 20th of March, the public is invited to the operetta performance “The Bat” by Johann Strauss, which will take place in the Opera Hall at the Romanian National Opera.
From 19:00, on the 22nd of March, the public is invited to enjoy a symphonic concert offered by the “Remus Georgescu” Orchestra of the Banat Philharmonic. Conducted by Cristian Spătaru, the orchestra will be accompanied by soloist Doru Roman on percussion. The event will take place in the Capitol Hall of the Banat Philharmonic, located at Constantin Diaconovici Loga Boulevard 2. Alternosfera, the alternative rock band from Chisinau, will arrive in Timisoara on the 23rd of March and will play a concert hosted by FITT, from 19:00.
The theatre performance “Slave to Two Masters” will premiere on the 23rd of March, at the German State Theatre, starting from 19:30.
On the 26th of March, the theatre performance “Cherry Orchard” will be staged at the German State Theatre at 19:30. Also, on the 27th of March, from 17:00, the audience will be able to see another performance of “1978”, directed by Tomi Janežič.On the 27th of March, at the German State Theatre, from 19:30, the performance “The Theatre” will be performed. At the same time, in the Opera Hall of the Romanian National Opera, starting at 19:00, the public will be able to watch the ballet “LA BAYADÈRE”, set to the music of L. Minkus.
The theatre performance “I’m a Communist Old Woman” will take place on the 28th of March, at 19:00, in the Main Hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre.
On the 29th of March, also at 19:00, in the Capitol Hall of the Banat Philharmonic, the “Remus Georgescu” Symphony Orchestra will perform a symphonic concert conducted by David Crescenzi. The soloists of the evening will be Dragoș Mihăilescu and Dinu Mihăilescu on piano.The last opera performance of March is Nabucco by G. Verdi, scheduled for the 29th of March, at 19:00, in the Opera Hall of the Romanian National Opera, located at 2 Mărășești Street.
This month ends on a harmonious note, with the theatre performance “The Taming of the Shrew” to be staged on the 31st of March in the Main Hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre.
