To My Dear FIJET Family,
The New Year is approaching, and new expectations and purposes come to our minds. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your families a Happy New Year and much success to FIJET!
It is with mixed emotions, I write to inform you of my decision to retire from FIJET and FIJET-Americas. I have been with FIJET 22 Years, 6 of those years leading FIJET Americas. I feel very proud that during my time I contributed to the success of FIJET with respect, dignity, loyalty, and professionalism. It’s time to give the opportunity for other people to continue the mission. Following my retirement, the FIJET Americas Vice President Mr. Guillermo Lozano Sarah will oversee FIJET Americas until a new President is elected.
FIJET for me represented a partner for my mission and passion in Journalism, Travel and Tourism. I must also express my deepest appreciation for the amazing friends and colleagues I had the privilege to share with. I truly cherish the relationships I have formed here, and I hope we continue in the future.
While writing this note, sweet memories come to my mind, as well as some tears as I remember a wonderful 22 years of great people, travels, and great moments together. I still remember old times with Ex-Vice president Miguel Angel Garcia Brera, Drago Bulk, Jim Thompson, Jose Luis Izaguirre, Francisco Rivero, Petr Kulhanek, Ozcan and Ertan Sandikcioglu, Jose Dilens with whom we formed the translation team called the “Dream Team”, I contributed as a translator English-Spanish for a long time. How can I forget the love that all my dear friends had for my beloved mother who was my travel companion on most of my trips. My mother also never forgot you. Thank you!
While this decision was not easy for me, I have faith in continued success, and I wish you all the best as you move forward into the new year.
Once again, thank you for everything. It has been an honour to be a part of the FIJET family. My sincerest gratitude to President Tijani and his family for their love and friendship. As well as to each one of you for your love, friendship, and support!
