A photo exhibition about Famagusta entitled “We are together for one homeland, for a common future” presented in Brussels by the Municipality of the occupied city of Famagusta, Cyprus from February 28 to March 3, 2023. 
Participation of Roberta METSOLA, EP President in the photo exhibition ‘We are together for one homeland, for a common future’. 
For the very first time, Tasos Demetriades a well-known photojournalist and filmmaker in Cyprus, member of Cyprus Travel Writers & Journalists Society presented a wonderful solo photo collection named “When Beautiful Past Meets Tragedy”. His unique photos present the welfare of the citizens of Famagusta before the Turkish invasion in 1974, and the current tragic state of the city. 
From left Roberta METSOLA, EP President, MEP Giorgos Georgiou, Tasos Demetriades and the Mayor of Famagusta, Simos Ioannou, who said that the main purpose of the mission of the Municipality of Famagusta to Brussels, in the context of which the photo exhibition is being organized, is to promote the issue of Famagusta in the European Parliament (EC) and denounce Turkey’s illegal actions in the enclosed area of Famagusta, in the last three years.

Present at the inauguration were, among others, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the EU Christina Rafti, Ambassadors, senior officials of EU institutions, MEP’s of all Political Groups and a large number of Cypriots living in Brussels.

Μια συγκλονιστική μαρτυρία αποτυπωμένη σε φωτογραφίες, που ξεδιπλώνει το δράμα της πόλης και των κατοίκων της που αναγκάστηκαν να την εγκαταλείψουν το 1974 λόγω της Τουρκικής εισβολής. Η Έκθεση περιέχει υλικό από το Λεύκωμα (Ντοκουμέντο) με φωτογραφίες από τη ζωή στο Βαρώσι πριν το 1974 και ταυτόχρονα φωτογραφικό υλικό από τα ίδια σημεία, όπως είναι σήμερα, με τίτλο «Όταν το όμορφο παρελθόν συναντά το τραγικό παρόν», του Τάσου Δημητριάδη.
