At the end of the extraordinary journey in Calabria and Sicily – Italy (August 2022) organised by the Greek Civilization Institute and the Cyprus Travel Writers & Journalists Society, where we had a spectacular tour guidance by Matteo Miano and Vasiliki Vourda, the opportunity was taken to express our deep appreciation to Matteo Miano and Vasiliki Vourda for their achievements in promoting travelling and the Greek language.
On behalf of the board and the members of our Association our president Phivos Nicolaides presented an appreciation plaque to our associate member Mr. Matteo Miano who has a special interest in Greek language and for his tireless efforts in the spread of ancient and modern Greek history through his job. In sincere appreciation for Matteo Miano and in recognition of his contribution and accomplishments as a tour guide for Greek speaking travellers in Sicily Italy.
Vasiliki Vourda is a Greek language teacher living with her family in Regio, Calabria – Italy. She is specializing in teaching modern Greek online, via Skype. On behalf of the board and the members of our Association, Gregoris Maliotis presented a plague to Vasiliki Vourda as a token of appreciation for her long support of innovative teaching of the Modern Greek language and special guide touring. 
Vasiliki Vourda applies a series of Learning Programme via internet that address learning Greek, thus promoting of the Greek language worldwide and especially in Italy and the Mediterranean countries. 
Το οδοιπορικό με τις ζωντανές μνήμες από τη Μεγάλη Ελλάδα στην Κάτω Ιταλία και Σικελία, που οργάνωσε το Ινστιτούτο Ελληνικού Πολιτισμού σε συνεργασία με τον Παγκύπριο Σύνδεσμο Συγγραφέων & Δημοσιογράφων Τουρισμού ήταν συγκλονιστικό. Κάποιοι αφανείς ήρωες που επιμένουν ελληνικά και καρδιοχτυπούν για να μη σβήσει η ιστορία της Μεγάλης Ελλάδας, διατηρούν έμπρακτα ζωντανή τη φλόγα της ιστορικής διαδρομής μέσα από τους αιώνες.
Πέρα από τους ιστορικούς συλλόγους και σωματεία ο Σύνδεσμος μας τίμησε με ειδικές πλακέτες τον ελληνόφωνο ξεναγό Matteo Miano, που Σπούδασε Νεοελληνική φιλολογία στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και είναι αδειούχος ξεναγός και πρόεδρος του Περιφερειακού Σωματείου Ξεναγών της Σικελίας και την Βασιλική Βούρδα η οποία σπούδασε Αρχαιολογία στο Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Έκανε σπουδές στην Ανάλυση και Σχεδιασμό Μουσείων και Αρχαιολογικών Χώρων στο Πανεπιστήμιο “Mediterranea” του Ρήγιο, Καλαβρίας, διδάσκει την Ελληνική γλώσσα και είναι ξεναγός σε ειδικές διαδρομές.
