On the anniversary of winning the “Best Tourism Village by UN Tourism” award 2023
A press conference was organized in Rastoki (27.10.2024) on which, about launched long-term projects, (from 2-7 years) EU funds, said Mayor Mirjana Puškarić. These are procedures in traffic infrastructure, the establishment of a digital system, the new Parking lot, reconstruction of water supply and sanitary sewerage.
From the short-term projects, she listed the construction of the Veterans Center, Home for the Elderly, and a motorcade, which is a private investment. She also announced an increase in maternity support to a thousand euros.
I would say a lot for a city of about 44 thousand inhabitants. The Director of TZ of Slunje City Jasmina Mrkonja presented an initiative called “Rastocani o Rastoki” – recorded sayings of the locals translated into stories.
Adriana Relja addressed on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and stressed the importance of tourism for this region and the promotion of Rastok, with the UNWTO award as well as this year’s recognition of the Evening Paper for the Champion of Tourism 2024 “the best destination for continental tourism”. The project of the Croatian Sports Museum was also presented: Milan Neralic – bronze reflection in the mirror (legendary fencing officer).
