Located in the beautiful Limassol province, the Trimiklini Waterfall offers a tranquil space to unwind in the presence of nature. Now I will write about the second largest waterfall in Cyprus, which we unexpectedly discovered on the way to the Troodos mountains. A waterfall is close to the café-restaurant “Green Valley” in the Trimiklini village, which is on the Limassol-Platres route. Green Valley waterfall. The distance is approximately 300 meters. Did you know that a few centuries ago waterfalls were not just for enjoying? Women brought clean water home for cooking and drinking. They used to wash their clothes and bathe at the waterfall. The shepherds sat down to rest and wash, and the animals also refreshed themselves there.Walking towards the waterfall, I saw many poultry: chickens, roosters, even peacocks. Farm. When I bought the ticket, I expected that the waterfall would be much bigger, natural and the environment would be nicely arranged in clean place, because the ticket says that the money for the ticket is intended for the maintenance and renovation of the environment.I made my way down the stones and creaking steep wooden stairs, past the stench of the poultry house. In the heat, all unpleasant odors intensify and mess. I was disappointed to see a very small dirty waterfall. I was the only one who visited the waterfall. After 15 min. two more female tourists from Germany arrived. I asked to be photographed by the waterfall. If you wish for someone good things to happen, you can throw coins to the water stream with your wishes. So, I did. After seeing this filthy place, I pleasantly refreshed myself in the clean tavern with especially delicious coffee and pastries. It was also possible to have lunch there. Grapes grew overhead and many types of honey were selling here. You could also buy various Cypriot souvenirs. Is this place worth looking at? Yes and no.
