Welcome Cheryl Holt Naja, Freelance writer & blogger from Atlanta, Georgia – USA. It’s so great to have you as part of our team.Years ago, I was a serious blogger and through the experience I had the opportunity to “meet” amazing people from around the world, many with whom I shared one or more common interests. One of the inspiring bloggers I had the pleasure of getting to know was Phil “Phivos” Nicolaides from the blog taxidiaris.blogspot.com. Phil’s blog focuses on travel where he highlights his travel destinations and the history, culture, natural beauty of each location and more. Phil is from Cyprus so of course on his blog he regularly shares highlights of various cities, sights to see and events from his home country. Through his storytelling and feature stories, I fell in love with Cyprus. Several years ago, my husband and I booked a trip and we were excited to finally visit and planned to meet up Phil and his family. After letting Phil know we were coming, we experienced an unexpected ticketing fiasco and never made the trip.
Thankfully this story has a very happy ending. After nearly 20 years of inspiring travel exchanges and friendship, we finally met Phil and Popi. Phil, and his wife, Popi, graciously invited us into their home to enjoy a family lunch and a delightful, long overdue visit. We also were taken on an informative tour of their neighborhood. We will see them again before we head back to the U.S., but what a joy it was to finally meet a fellow blogger friend after so many years. Cheryl Holt NajaIn all cultures, friendships are important relationships throughout a person’s life span. This also applies for clubs and associations. International connections and friendships can help you in your personal development and fulfilment. You’ll come to appreciate commonalities and differences, expand your perspectives, and maybe even enjoy unique travel experiences! This is the way Cyprus Travel Writers & Journalists Society is so successful in achieving goals and targets, and expanding its activities!
