The Cyprus Society of Travel Writers & Journalist incorporated (CYSTWJ) is the respected travel media body in Cyprus. Founded in 1978 and incorporated in 1979, it is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting ethical and honest tourism.
Encourage and uphold responsible, unbiased, professional standards of travel and tourism reporting.
To utilize local, and international connections in providing knowledge and constructive evaluations that serve the public and private sector interest in travel, hospitality, and tourism.
To provide educational and networking opportunities to help members succeed in the evolving multiplatform journalism environment and travel industry with an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
Safeguard the professional independence of travel writers.
Undertake other activities that contribute to the CYSTWJ’s prime goals of better travel reporting and more satisfying travel.
The specific purposes of CYSTWJ shall include, without limitation: To provide a gathering point and resource base for an active membership composed of professionals engaged in travel, and tourism.
